HOW TO MAKE LEGO GUMMY CANDIES

EDIBLE SCIENCE

Kids love edible science projects, and this one is a great way to explore states of matter as well as osmosis and irreversible change! WOW! Plus, you get a tasty treat out of it as well. You don’t just have to make gummy bear shapes! Why not make LEGO brick gummies.  While you’re at it, make sure to check out these other fun edible science experiments.

Our science experiments are designed with you, the parent or teacher, in mind!  Easy to set up, quick to do, most activities will take only 15 to 30 minutes to complete and are heaps of fun!  Plus, our supplies lists usually contain only free or cheap materials you can source from home!

LEGO GUMMIES RECIPE

We made these a healthier version of the real thing using organic fruit juices and honey! Check out the video.

INGREDIENTS

  • 1/2 cup of fruit juice
  • 1 tablespoon of honey
  • 2 tablespoon of plain gelatin
  • silicone molds
  • eyedropper or small spoon

HOW TO MAKE LEGO GUMMIES

STEP 1: First mix together the fruit juice, honey and gelatin in a small saucepan on low heat until all the gelatin is dissolved.

TIP: Vary the color of your gummy candy by using different types of fruit juice.

STEP 2: Use a dropper (or whatever works best for you) to add the gelatin mixture to silicone LEGO mini-figure molds or LEGO brick molds.

STEP 3: Now let your homemade gummy candy set and firm up for at least 30 minutes in the fridge.
